Shadows are an interesting way to give certain typographic elements a bit of extra flare to them by playing around with the dimension and the lighting of the letter forms. I have seen this done a few times in videos or with logos so I wanted to find out a bit more on how to make this technique happen. I found this video that outlined the steps and I am glad to have learned this because it seems like something I could definitely use in the future because it is subtle but if executed properly can really add to the work. This video does use a plug in that is a bit pricey but the outcome is really really nice. I went with the free trial first to see how it works and then may look into buying the full version if I find myself using it often.
